3 Gaspé companies awarded the Lauriers de la gastronomie québécoise

Gaspésie will be in the spotlight at the Gala des Lauriers de la gastronomie québécoise on May 24. A company, a chef, and a brewer are nominated. Un Océan de saveurs is a finalist in the Producer of the Year category. Its CEO, Antoine Nicolas, freedives in the waters of the St. Lawrence year-round to harvest seaweed, process it, and bring it to your plates. Un Océan de saveurs is the first Quebec-based seaweed producer to be certified organic. The executive chef of Maison du Pêcheur in Percé, Christophe Mamelonet, is nominated for Revelation of the Year. He is a rising star in the Gaspé restaurant scene. Benoît Couillard of the Auval microbrewery is a finalist in the Brewer of the Year category. This is his third nomination in as many years.
